It looks like rapper Lil Boosie will be coming home from prison much sooner than expected.

The Baton Rouge rapper (born Torrence Hatch) beat a first-degree murder charge that could have landed him in prison for life, but he plead guilty to drug charges and is currently serving an 8-year prison term in the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

However, sources close to Boosie have confirmed that he will be released from prison in less than 60 days! The sources said Boosie will be released from jail because he was set up on the drug charge. Investigators claimed Boosie tried to smuggle drugs into Dixon Correctional Center once and into Angola State Penitentiary twice.

Boosie’s attorneys were able to argue that the drug ring charge was a set up, because the informant offered to provide codeine syrup for Boosie, an admitted codeine addict, in exchange for his help.

He is expected to walk out of prison in mid-February of 2013.
