Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie (born Torence Hatch) has been found not guilty of first degree murder after a Baton Rouge jury deliberated for about an hour. Boosie could have been sentenced to life in prison if he was convicted.
Boosie was accused of hiring a hit man to kill 35-year-old Terry Boyd back in 2009. Prosecutors even used some of Boosie’s rap lyrics as evidence that he ordered the hit, but a jury thought otherwise.
Although Boosie was found not guilty, he won’t be back on the streets anytime soon. He’s currently serving an 8-year prison term on drug charges and is being held in the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.
