The mission of Stand Up For Kids is to help homeless and street kids and is really geared towards youth not older than 21 (they had to of been homeless before they turned 18). They are provided a safe haven, given hygiene kits and clothes. They are given information to improve their life by obtaining education, IDs, birth certificate and some medical assistance.

Stand Up For Kids feeds 60-100 homeless youth per week; provide a safe haven to shower and wash clothes; provides Christmas gifts for over 60 children; work one on one to council the youth; provide an avenue for the children to give back by hosting volunteer days.

Programs include:

Don’t Run Away – The National Runaway Switchboard states that, “In every classroom of thirty-five kids, seven of them will run away before they are eighteen.” The Don’t Run Away Program starts with StandUp For Kids Club members from high schools and colleges making presentations in junior high and elementary school classrooms. Students from the 3rd grade on up to the 8th grade are taught how to remove themselves from abusive situations. The Don’t Run Away program reaches out to encourage kids not to run away.

JustUS – The Just US program was created to reach out to kids.
