Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars is having one of the best years in his career. After selling out his “Moonshine Jungle World Tour,” it has just been announced he will be headlining the Super Bowl XLVIII. The Super Bowl will take place in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium.

Before Mars was officially announced as the performer, many were speculating if it would be him. A spokesman  for the NFL tried to keep Bruno Mars’ performance a secret by joking that both Janet Jackson and Miley Cyrus had both ruled out as performers.

The “Locked Out Of Heaven” singer is joining an elite list of artists who have graced the Super Bowl halftime show like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Beyonce, James Brown, and Prince.

We have to admit, although we’re not sure what kind of stage production he’s going to put on, we’re a little hyped for Bruno Mars to be headlining the halftime show. What are your thoughts?
