This Veterans Day businesses throughout the city are giving back to those who have served our country. Here are some of the restaurants offering veterans free meals (many of which require proof of military service):

Applebee’s – Free meal from a select menu.

Boston Market – A free whole chicken when you purchase a family meal, with a valid military ID.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill – Free appetizer.

Chili’s – Free entrée from a Veterans Day menu. Dine-in only.

Denny’s – Free all-you-can-eat pancakes from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. .

Einstein Bros. Bagels – Free bagel or schmear (or any other topping) to all active, inactive and retired military personnel.

Golden Corral – From 4-9 p.m. all veterans and active-duty service members will receive a FREE Veterans Day buffet and beverage in their Military Appreciation Monday Thank You Dinner.

Hooters – Free meal for all veterans and current servicemen and women on Veterans Day with any drink purchase.

J. Christopher’s – Veterans receive a FREE meal and J. Christopher’s will also donate $1,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Krispy Kreme – Free doughnut and small coffee at participating stores.

LongHorn Steakhouse – Free Texas Tonion appetizer and non-alcoholic beverage (through Nov. 14).

McCormick & Schmick’s – Free entrée from special menu offered for Veterans Day.

Olive Garden – Free meal from a special menu for all veterans and current service members; and family dining with them will receive 10% off their meal.

On the Border – Free Create Your Own Combo meal.

Outback Steakhouse – Free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage today, as well as a 10% discount through the end of the year as thanks for their service.

Red Lobster – Free appetizer from a list of 10 options (through the 14th).

Starbucks – Free tall coffee to all active duty, veterans AND military spouses.

TGI Fridays – Free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. .

Twin Peaks – Lunch or dinner.
