Chic, the popular disco group from the ’70s whose hit song, “Good Times” proved to be one of the most sampled songs in music, will be featured on the net episode of TV One’s “Unsung.”

The group was formed by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards in 1976 in New York City. The single that birthed hip-hop, “Good Times,” was released from their third album, “Risqué,” and it was later sampled in numerous songs such as Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight,” Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust,” and Blondie’s “Rapture.”

Once disco died, so did Chic, but only briefly. he group broke up in the early 1980s, but Rodgers and Edwards continued to produce. The group has since gotten back together, and is now known as Chic featuring Nile Rodgers.
