Atlanta rapper DG Yola aka Yola Da Great is in serious trouble after being arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and attempted robbery. He was arrested Friday night (March 14) as a suspect in two shootings, one of which was fatal.
According to the AJC, DG Yola (real name Mario Talley) is alleged to have shot and killed Rodney Walker last Sunday night at the Daron Village Apartments on Harwell Road in northwest Atlanta. Police found Walker dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the rear of the apartment complex. Another man, Isiah Knight, told police he had been robbed and shot outside the Daron Village Apartments. Yola is being held at the Fulton County Jail.
DG Yola had a hit in 2006 with “Ain’t Gon’ Let Up” and was about to hit the national stage when he was the victim of a shooting in 2007. He also reportedly served one-year in prison for aggravated assault from 2009 to 2010.
