Although the Ebola virus is still prevalent in a few African countries, one of the places hit the hardest is on its way to being declared Ebola-free. According to the World Health Organization, Liberia will be listed as Ebola-free on Saturday, which marks 42 days since the last case was reported. Although Liberia will rejoice getting rid of the disease, they still have to be on high alert since Ebola is running rampant in neighboring countries like Guinea and Sierra Leone. “There are risks that it can come back. So we await Sierra Leone’s and Guinea’s conquering of Ebola as well,” said Karin Landgren, the head of the United Nations mission in Liberia. Read more.


Colorado Restaurant to have ‘White Appreciation Day’

Every February we celebrate the achievements and sacrifices that African-American men and women have made during Black History Month, and now the owners of a restaurant in Milliken, Colorado are trying to make “White Appreciation Day” a thing. Next month, the owners of Rubbin Buttz BBQ on Broad Street will offer a 10 percent discount to all White customers. “We have a whole month for Black History Month,” said Hispanic owner Edgar Antillon. “We have a whole month for Hispanic heritage month, so we thought the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate White Americans.” Antillon and the other owner Miguel Jimenez are already receiving a lot of backlash for their decision. JetBlue Will Offer Flights from NYC to Cuba

Want to take advantage of the newfound relationship between the U.S. and Cuba? You’ll be able to do so in July. JetBlue is offering weekly flights from New York City to Havana. It’s the first major airline to announce they will offer flights to Cuba since the travel restrictions were lifted. “JetBlue’s exciting announcement today is proof that our approach is delivering results for New York businesses,” said Gov.
