Idris Elba might not be good enough for the James Bond franchise, but Sam Smith just got a pass. The British singer will sing the next Bond theme for the upcoming flick, Spectre.

The tune will be called “Writing’s On the Wall,” (#NoDestinysChild), and Smith says he’s excited to record it for the iconic film franchise. From Entertainment Weekly:

“This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honored to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song,” Smith, who co-wrote the song with Jimmy Napes, said in a statement. “I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.”

Smith is the first British male artist since 1965 to record a Bond theme, since Tom Jones sang “Thunderball.”

“Writing’s On the Wall” will be available on iTunes on September 25. Spectre opens in theaters November 6.
