WE tv is giving the world a closer look into the lives of the youngest in rap royalty with a new reality series titled “Growing Up Hip Hop.”

The show, which was first announced earlier this summer in July, will chronicle the lives of several celebrity kids born to some of hip hop’s most legendary artists including Master P’s son Romeo Miller, Rev Run’s daughter Angela Simmons, Damon Dash’s son Damon “Boogie” Dash Jr., James DeBarge’s daughter Kristina DeBarge, Peppa and Treach’s daughter Egypt Crisis and Jam Master Jay’s son TJ Mizell. The cameras will follow the young starlets in the making as they pursue their own individual business ventures and aim to make names for themselves apart from their famous parents.

We TV President Marc Juris had this to say about the series:

“Hip hop is a hugely popular music genre, but beyond the songs it has become a lifestyle and has influenced a generation of young people. ‘Growing Up Hip Hop’ profiles what it’s like to be raised by hip hop legends, living in their shadow while trying to balance success and independence. This series will be right at home in our growing line-up focused on the authenticity and the challenges of real people and real relationships, and we can’t wait to share these distinctive original stories with WE tv viewers.”

Here’s a sneak peek at what viewers can expect from the show:

In addition to being cast members, Rome Miller and Angela Simmons are also listed as executive producers of the show, which is set to begin airing this fall on WE tv.
