What: MLK Jr. Celebration – National Day of Service Block Party and House Tour.

When: Monday, January 16, 2017.

Where: Atlanta’s Pittsburgh neighborhood, starting at 790 Welch Street.

The Urban League of Greater Atlanta is joining with two other organizations – Community Movement Builders and the Casey Foundation – to host a community block party with ULGA YouthBuild program participants and community residents. Local civic, political and faith leaders and businesses including State Farm will join in clean-up projects, a walking community and house tour, and healthy food demonstrations. In addition, the day will be filled with games and activities for children.

YouthBuild supports out of school youth ages 16 – 24 to earn a GED and Construction Certification, continue their post-secondary education, gain life skills and secure sustainable employment. The program is funded by the US Department of Labor and other private sector sponsors.
