In an extremely close Mayoral race, candidate  Keisha Lance Bottoms pulled out the victory by only a few hundred votes. The race was so close that Mary Norwood has already stated she will be asking for recount. Atlanta continue its run of African-American mayors that began with Maynard Jackson in the mid-1970s. “”I’m so honored to be your 60th mayor,” said Bottoms. “I am just in awe of what God is able to do.”
