The Shade Room released footage showing the moment Lanez was assaulted at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.
Inmate Santino Casio has reportedly been confirmed as the man who stabbed Lanez during recreational hours. Reports say the two exchanged words before Casio attacked.
A 39-second surveillance clip shows Tory Lanez stepping out of a cell and lingering near the doorway. There’s no clear audio of a conversation, but the footage captures Lanez walking toward a stairwell. Suddenly, inmate Santino Casio rushes him and begins stabbing.
Lanez tries to fight back and stay on his feet but quickly drops to the ground. He eventually escapes down the stairs, and at this moment, no one appears to intervene.
Sources claim Lanez suffered serious injuries, but prison officials have not released an official update on his condition.
Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
This is the first major violent incident involving him since being taken into custody.
