Reggae superstar Buju Banton was found guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five or more kilos of cocaine, attempted possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, and using the wires to facilitate a drug-trafficking offense. Banton was found not guilty of possession of a firearm.
A jury will begin deliberating today in the cocaine trial of reggae superstar Buju Banton. Banton is accused of conspiring with two men to set up a drug deal in December 2009.

According to court documents filed on Tuesday (January 26), Buju Banton’s high powered defense attorneys David Markus Marc and David Seitles claimed that the government entrapped the singer, because the informant pressured Buju to purchase cocaine.
Reggae star Buju Banton has pleaded not guilty to a drug charge in Florida following his arrest last December. The reggae musician was arrested at his Tamarac, Florida home by an undercover police officer. He was charged with conspiring to buy over five kilograms of cocaine.
