Che “Rhymefest” Smith has made it to a run-off election for a Chicago City Council seat.  The Chicago-based rapper received 20 percent of the votes in yesterday’s election.

‘Fest’s opponent, incumbent Alderman Willie Cochran, received 46 percent of the vote.  Since neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes, the top two candidates, Cochran & Rhymefest, move to a runoff election.

Rhymefest says he will get the support of three other candidates who did not make the runoff election. The Chicago Teachers Union has already given Rhymefest their support.
