A judge has suspended Katherine Jackson as guardian of Michael Jackson’s three children and appointed TJ Jackson, the 34-year-old son of Tito Jackson, as temporary guardian in the absence of their grandmother.
“We have reason to believe that Mrs. Jackson has been held against her will,” Katherine Jackson attorney Sandra Ribera told Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff at a hearing Wednesday.
However, in a confusing twist to the ongoing Jackson family drama, CNN reports that immediately after the hearing, another attorney for Katherine Jackson, Perry Sanders, said he’d been told by Randy Jackson that his mother was on a plane headed to California.
Sanders said he would immediately file a petition to restore Katherine Jackson as custodian.
Judge Beckloff suspended Katherine Jackson as guardian for Prince, Paris and Prince Michael II (aka Blanket), because she may be “prevented from acting as a guardian because of the acts of third parties.”
He also ordered “that the children not be removed from California without a court order, by any person.”
The judge also ordered that Diana Ross, whom Michael Jackson named as backup guardian in his will, and Debbie Rowe, the biological mother of the two oldest children, be given notice of the order.
Katherine Jackson finally called her home Tuesday night after being out of communication for nine days. TJ Jackson, whom Katherine Jackson left in charge of the children when she left home on July 15, said he was disturbed by how she sounded.
As we recently reported, police were called to the Jackson compound on Monday, after reports of a fight at the home involving various family members, including Janet Jackson and Paris Jackson.
Katherine Jackson attorney Sandra Ribera issued the following statement in response to that incident:
“After exiting their vehicles, Jackson family members ran up to Michael’s children as they yelled and began to aggressively grab at the cell phones in their hands. Following the incident, it was learned that one of the family members who was part of the ambush admitted that a plan has been in place for the last three years to remove Katherine Jackson from her home and her beloved grandchildren.”
Paris has also sent out several tweets about the drama, including these:
