Citizens express their dissatisfaction of the acquittal of George Zimmerman, by smashing windows, attacking police cars, overturning dumpsters and setting fires in downtown Oakland, and other cities across America.
These displays of civil unrest are exactly what the President hoped not to happen when releasing this statement from the white House today: “I know this case has elicited strong passions,” “And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken.”
