JACKSON‘S DOCTOR HIRES DEFENSE LAWYER!
Dr. Conrad Murray could be facing criminal charges soon, now that the Los Angeles Police Department has reportedly finished its investigation into Michael Jackson’s death. Murray could be charged with gross negligence after the LAPD hands the case off to the District Attorney. Murray hired a criminal defense attorney on Friday. His name is Michael Flanagan and he’s best known for representing Britney Spears in a hit-and-run case. But Flanagan also represented a nurse who was accused of giving a patient propofol – the operating room anesthetic that killed Michael Jackson. The nurse was acquitted after Flanagan proved that she did not give her patient the drug. Flanagan said that prosecutors could have a hard time proving gross negligence on the part of Dr. Murray. The lawyer stated, “This trial could end up being a trial of medical practice,” he said. “The question is what discretion does a doctor have to treat a patient, and if a doctor makes a mistake, is it a crime?”
WEEZY’S “REBIRTH” STILL ON FOR FEBRUARY 2!
Apparently Lil Wayne’s repeatedly-delayed “Rebirth” album is not being delayed again. A rep for Cash Money Records told MTV News that reports about “Rebirth” being pushed back to June 22 are not true. The reps said, “Wayne’s album is still on schedule for February 2.” That date is just one week before Weezy’s due to begin his one-year prison sentence for gun possession.
Reports about “Rebirth” being moved to June 22 were based on an alleged announcement on Wal-Mart’s official web site. That announcement was quickly taken down.
HUDSON AND LEGEND TO HONOR BLACK HISTORY AT THE WHITE HOUSE!
John Legend and Jennifer Hudson will be at the White House next month for a musical celebration of Black History Month. Legend and Hudson will join President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on February 10 for “’A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement.” Smokey Robinson, Seal and the Blind Boys of Alabama will also perform. The event will be taped for broadcast on PBS on February 11 at 8:00 PM.
Beyonce Releases Official Statement
People are upset because Beyonce accepted a reported $2 million to perform for an alleged wife beater who cries “diplomatic immunity” after all his transgressions, but we should really all just relax because, come on… everyone else is doing it. The singer released a statement on her website last week saying that, first of all, the party wasn’t thrown by the alleged wife beater (Hannibal Khadaffy), but by his brother (Muatsim-Billah) and then she said that lots of famous artists have performed at the annual New Year’s Eve party. “The annual party had a long history of booking internationally known artists both American and foreign for events around the world, including Cannes. Past performers in St. Bart’s have included Timbaland, Enrique Iglesias and Mariah Carey. Guests at this year’s party included singer Usher, former BET CEO Bob Johnson, actress Lindsay Lohan and music industry vets, Russell Simmons, Kevin Liles and L.A. Reid.” Well if Russell Simmons, Kevin Liles and L.A. Reid jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge, would you do that, too?

Danger Might Need to be Back in the Hospital
We don’t have very many words for the recent interview “Danger” from For the Love of Ray J gave. Trying to follow her train of thought is almost impossible. Danger talks about all the people who owe her money – including Ray J – and that they better “pay the f**k up” or she’s coming clean on what she knows about everybody out in Hollywood. She says that there will be “no more locking me up in an institution to silence me, all that is done.” She goes on to say that people in Hollywood – where she says she’s been working as an “actress” for four years – don’t know anything about her and how rich she is. She tells the DJ to go watch Coming to America with Eddie Murphy and then he’ll know something about where she’s from. And in between all these statements, Danger talks about being raped and molested since she was an infant. Honestly, we don’t know what to believe with this chick. [Note Content] Meanwhile, Danger’s daughter was taken away from her last week and put in the custody of her father. We’re assuming it was after this interview, considering Danger says in it that she’s sitting with her baby. Regardless, this move is probably the best thing.
