An independent candidate going by the name of “Deez Nuts” is making waves in the 2016 presidential race. What’s even crazier is that Deez Nuts is currently polling at 9% among likely voters in North Carolina. Nuts, who recently revealed himself to be a teenager from Iowa, also got the support of 8% of likely voters in Minnesota and 7% of likely voters in Iowa.

Deez Nuts registered under a name known widely as a track from Dr. Dre’s critically acclaimed 1992 album “The Chronic.” The phrase has become part of pop culture since that album was released.

The presidential race already comprises 17 major candidates, but at least 512 people have formally filed a statement of candidacy for the race with the Federal Election Commission.

Other candidates with crazy names include Sydneys Voluptuous Buttocks, Mr. Crawfish B. Crawfish of Louisiana and a cat named Limberbutt McCubbins, whose campaign includes legalizing catnip.
