The Atlanta Fire Department is kicking off a diversity initiative tonight to specifically recruit women, Hispanics, & LGBT identifying people. “Narratives in Courage: Stories of LGBT Public Safety Heroes” is a free event. It is Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the Center for Civil and Human Rights. A reception starts at 6:30 p.m. The program starts at 7.
Things go wrong at a Gwinnett NAACP meeting
A Gwinnett NAACP meeting turned nasty yesterday and the Gwinnett County commissioner who called Congressman John Lewis a racist pig had to walk out. Commissioner Tommy Hunter was invited to address the group but anger erupted when he was not asked questions about his calling John Lewis a racist pig.
