Jury selection in the sexual assault trial of Bill Cosby get underway today in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bill Cosby is
accused of drugging and molesting former Temple University employee at his home in 2004. Mr. Cosby says he gave
Benadryl to Amanda Constand on the night in question and the sex was consensual. Judge Steven T. O’Neill and the
lawyers in the case will start reviewing the first potential jurors, drawn from lists of registered voters and drivers in
Allegheny County.
Massive hot dog recall
The Department of Agriculture says Nathan’s and Curtis brand hot dogs are being recalled because they may be
contaminated with metal. The recall applies to 14-oz sealed film packs labeled “Nathan’s Skinless 8 Beef Franks” with a
use-by date of Aug. 19, 2017, and to 16-oz sealed film packs labeled “Curtis Beef Master Beef Franks” with a use-by date
of June 15, 2017. The packages have “Est. 296” on the sides and were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
President Trump’s first major budget proposal will include cuts to Medicaid, federal pensions and food stamps. Trump
promised repeatedly on the campaign trail to avoid cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. The budget plan, which
is set to be public knowledge on Tuesday, but the proposal is a blueprint for Congress, which appropriates the funds.
