21 Savage’s Back to School Drive – Free Supplies & More Aug 3

Grammy-nominated rapper 21 Savage is once again giving back to Atlanta with his ninth annual Back to School Drive, happening Sunday, August 3, at South DeKalb Mall. From 1 PM to 4 PM, families can head to the lower-level Macy’s parking lot, where free school essentials, haircuts, food, and more will be provided to help kids start the school year strong.
What sets this community event apart is its roots: long before 21 Savage’s stardom, his mother, affectionately known as Momma Fly Style, led the way in helping local students. “It’s grown bigger every year since my son joined,” she said. “We’re here to support families—no child should be left behind.”
This year’s drive offers everything school kids need: backpacks filled with supplies, shoes, and even fresh haircuts for boys and free braids for girls (just come with clean hair). Fun activities, including bouncy houses and games, will be available, and local vendors will keep everyone fueled with free food and drinks. Families can also visit booths for financial literacy resources and other community support.
The event is made possible by generous sponsors such as Walmart, which delivered supplies in an 18-foot truck, as well as Prime, Starface, and strong support from DeKalb County. Executive director Dani from the Leading by Example Foundation praised the teamwork: “Walmart and our partners have gone above and beyond for the kids.”
Adding to the excitement, surprise special guests are expected, making the day even more memorable for attendees. But at its core, the event remains focused on leveling the playing field for students and empowering families beyond school supplies—financial literacy sessions will continue well after the day is over.
To attend, simply show up at South DeKalb Mall on August 3—early arrival is encouraged, as supplies are first-come, first-served. To volunteer or sponsor, reach out to the foundation on Instagram at @LBEfoundation.
