After a week of back and forth speculation, it's official. Mary J Blige will not be a part of Howard University's Class of 2014. Click here for details.

Mary J. Blige made headlines over the weekend with her announcement that she had received an honorary New York City high school diploma and was to attend Howard University in the fall, making her a member of the class of 2014. The Washington Post decided to follow-up MJB's claims with the folks at Howard.

Plies dropped by Hot 107.9 recently and was interviewed by the "Rickey Smiley Morning Show" crew. One of the topics the crew asked Plies about was reports that have surfaced online that say Plies attended college and was the valedictorian of his high school.

Plies took to the satellite radio airwaves and attempted to clear up a rumor about his past. Plies visited Angela Yee's Shade 45 radio show earlier this week, and a listener called in to ask if Plies was really the valedictorian of his high school, if his brother was the real thug and that Plies took his image. Not sure if this was before or after, or even if Plies did get arrested, but while onstage at Jingle Bash the Florida rapper and certified goon promised a female fan that he would pay for her to attend college. Check out the clip here.
