Kanye West called into Big Boy’s Real 92.3 radio show recently to congratulate the radio host for being inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.

After the two had exchanged pleasantries, Big Boy probed Kanye about his highly anticipated, forthcoming album SWISH. The Chicago rapper kept tight-lipped about the project, but did liken the album to a “sonic painting,” later saying that it “gets better and better every week.”

“I don’t wanna overly describe it or overly try to hype it up,” Kanye West said. “The work is slow. I’ve had a while to work on it. I separated with a couple of the tracks that were on my album that I gave to other people like ‘FourFiveSeconds’ to Rihanna or the joint on The Weeknd album, ‘Tell Your Friends,’ and I still kept working and trying to find the language that I wanted to say on my album. Just going in the lab every night.

“[SWISH is] sounding good,” he continued. “It’s like a sonic painting, and it gets better and better every week.”

Kanye West’s full interview with Big Boy, where the rapper also reflects on the impact of his 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak, can be heard below:
